  • Ms. Mehek Chowdhary Ms. Akshara Verma participated in debate competition at ‘Just Ice’ a law fest organized by Rizvi Law College on March 19 – 20, 2018. Law Fest “JUST ICE”.

Co- Curricular Activities

  • Ms. Hansa Bhargav, faculty in charge, Moot Court, conducted moot court presentation on November 17, 2017.
  • A demonstration of moot court was organized on 18th November 2017 to make students familiar with moot court competitions and to encourage them to participate. Adv S. V. Rajadhayaksh preside as a judge, Gaurav Anarkat and Disha Waghela presented demonstration.
  • Skit was presented by students of B. L. S. /LL. B. on famous drama of William Shakespeare, Merchant of Venice, under the guidance of English teacher, Ms. Smita Pal on 28th November 2018.
  • To give practical learning experience to the students, Lok Adalat visit was organized for the students at Small Causes Court, 0n 9th December 2017. During the visit students got an opportunity to observe proceedings of the Lok Adalat.
  • Students of Three Years Course & Five Years course visited Dahisar Police Station on February 17, 2018. In charge of police station explained them about FIR, NC, remand and other procedures.
  • First Intra – Moot Court Competition was organized on March 10, 2018 for the students of both Three-Year Law Course and Five-Year Law Course. There was an overwhelming participation from the students with twelve teams competing for the trophy. There were two rounds- the Preliminary and the Finals and trophies were given to the Winner, Runners up, Best memorial and best speaker. Eminent people from the Industry were invited for judging the event.

Extra-Curricular Activities

  • Constitution Day was celebrated on November 28, 2017, wherein Prof. Avinash Kolhe enlightened the students about the making of the Constitution of India followed by Constitutional Quiz competition.
  • Our students participated in longest beach cleanness drive at Versova Beach, on 2nd December 2017, organized by environmentalist and ocean lover activist Adv. Afroz Shah, who has been conferred Champion of the Earth by United Nations.
  • On the occasion of birthday of famous Marathi poet ‘Kusumagraj’, we celebrated Marathi Bhasha Gaurav Divas on February 27, 2017. There was a guest lecture by Dr. Manmohan Kamat, an eminent academician in the field of Medicine and Law with an in depth understanding of the Marathi language. He spoke on the importance of language in the growth of a society and the significance of Marathi literature. It was followed by a cultural function where the students showed enthusiastic participation in portraying the various aspects of Marathi culture through traditional dance, music and drama.
  • The Women Development Cell of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Law celebrated International Women’s Day with a guest lecture on Women Empowerment by Dr. Dinu Mathew, psychologist and counselling therapist with experience in counselling students and women. It was followed by self – defense workshop for the girl students and faculty of the college. The session was conducted by Ms. Alpa Khatri, Black Belt in Karate and professional trainer in martial arts.

Seminar & Workshop

  • Mr. R. Perumal, Librarian, Jitendra Chauhan College of Law addressed the students on the topic ‘How to search case laws and law articles from e-Journals’ on December 23, 2017 as a part of library orientation program.
  • Mr. Dhaval Bathia, holder of Guinness World Record and Limca Book record for teaching the maximum schools across the world, conducted session on ‘How to Remember Sections and Case Laws in Law Examinations’ on January 11, 2018.
  • Mr. Sachin Dedhia, International Ethical Hacker, conducted seminar on “Cyber Crime: Danger & Prevention” on February 12, 2018.
  • Adv. Jayesh Kothari, Senior Associate, DSK Legal Associates addressed the students on the various career options that are available to a law student on April 7, 2018. The varied fields of practice i.e. Civil, Criminal, Corporate, Family, Cyber, etc. were explained in-depth highlighting their importance.
  • Ms. Krishna Chand conducted workshop on ‘Soft Skill Development’ on April 26, 2018.

Student's Achievement

  • Ms. Akshra Verma won First Prize in the event ‘Picture Caption’ at national level intercollegiate fest ‘ASTRAEA’ organized by KES’s Jayantilal H. Patel College of Law, on February 10, 2018.
  • Ms. Shivangi Singh, Ms. Jyoti Sharma and Ms. Fatema Kanchwala won First prize in the event Client Counselling’ at ‘Law Tryst’- a national Fest, organized by SVKM’s Jitendra Chauhan College of Law on March 9, 2018.
  • Research paper of Miss. Mahima Shah ‘Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016: A Critical Analysis’ is published in 4th Research Paper Writing Competition organized by Supremo Amicus.

  • Prof. Avinash Kolhe from Ruparel College addressed the students on the topic ‘Making of The Constitution’ on November 28, 2017.
  • Research article of Dr. A. K. Singh “Legitimacy of Children under Hindu law: A Critique” is published in Paripex - Indian Journal of Research, Volume 7, Issue 4, April – 2018.
  • Adv. Puneet Chaturvedi addressed the students on the topic ‘Law of Torts: An Overview’ on December 16, 2017.
  • Adv. Afroz Shah (recipient of ‘2016 Champion of Earth’ award from United Nations, an Environmentalist and Ocean Lover) addressed the students on topic “Environment Protection and Role of Citizens” on Friday, February 16, 2018.
  • Adv. Puneet Chaturvedi addressed the students on the topic “Constitutional Law- Part - I” on April 7, 2018 and Part - II on April 17, 2018.
  • Mr. Sanjay Pandey -IPS (Director General of Police and Commandant General), Home Guards delivered a lecture on Cyber Law with special focus on the various provisions of the Information Technology Act,2000 on April 21, 2018. Current practices in Cyber Laws, the concept of Cyber Terrorism and the contemporary issues of privacy were highlighted in the lecture.

Lex Communique – 18

Lex Communique is the Annual Fest of Thakur Ramnarayan College of Law which was held for the first time on 24th March 2018. It was an inter collegiate debate competition with the topic ‘Censorship - An Outdated Concept’. Being the first year there was an overwhelming response as teams from 20 colleges participated. Additional Solicitor General of India was the chief and Mr. Jitendra R Singh, Secretary, Thakur Educational Trust, Dr. V. P. Pradhan, and Mr. Ravi Singh were the guest of honour. The cover page of college annual magazine Vidhi Srijan was launched. The event was held in three rounds; Preliminary which was judged by Adv. Rinky Deb and Adv. Suhail Shariff, Semi Finals which were judges by Adv. Harsh Desai and Adv. Mihir Shah and the final round was judged by Adv. Rashda Ainapore and Adv. Puneet Chaturvedi. The Winners were from VES Law College, Chembur whereas the Runners Up were from MKES Law College. The prize for Best Debater was awarded to Aditi Anand from Jayantilal H Patel Law College.
