The SWAYAM-NPTEL Local Chapter at Thakur Ramnarayan College of Law
Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) and National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) is a prominent online learning platform initiated by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The platform has been providing a wide array of self-study courses encompassing various disciplines such as engineering, humanities, and science for a period exceeding ten years. It has the provision of online certification options for its diverse range of courses, with a notable feature being the inclusion of certification examinations that afford students the opportunity to obtain a certificate endorsed by the esteemed educational institutions of the country.
Courses provided via SWAYAM are accessible to learners without any charge; nevertheless, learners who desire a SWAYAM certificate must enroll for the ultimate proctored assessments, which incur a cost, and must physically attend at designated facilities on specific dates.
In order to advance this endeavor and promote greater student engagement in colleges, SWAYAM-NPTEL chapters are established within colleges. These chapters operate under the leadership of a faculty member designated as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC). Their communication will keep the SPOC abreast of the most recent developments and provide information for dissemination among students. The SPOC will be responsible for identifying appropriate mentors for various courses to ensure student participation, timely assignment submission, and resolution of any queries that may arise. At Thakur Ramnarayan College of Law, the Local Chapter was established from the academic year 2023-24. Under the leadership of our Principal, the Local Chapter was activated to offer bridge courses to our students to add value to their learning. Asst. Prof. Ishrat Pirani is the SPOC for TRCL Local Chapter. Kindly refer to the policy document for further information on implementation of courses at TRCL.
