  • Ms. Shovonita Acharjee is currently working as an Assistant Professor in Law at TRCL since February 2022.
  • Presently pursuing Ph.D. in Constitutional Law from Sharda University, Greater Noida. Uttar Pradesh. Her Research is primarily focusing on “Child in Conflict with Law with special reference to Juvenile Homes in Delhi-Ncr Region.” Her Ph.D. Research is a continuation to her LLM. Dissertation under the title “Constitutional Jurisprudence in Juvenile Justice System in Delhi-Ncr.” from Amity University, Noida, Uttar Pradesh. She pursued her B.A.LLB (Hons.) from Kalyani University, West Bengal.
  • Ms. Acharjee has more than 7 years of progressive Teaching and Research experience. She has taught at some of the most reputed law colleges and universities in and around Delhi-NCR prior to joining Thakur Ramnarayan College of Law, Mumbai. Ms. Acharya expertise in teaching various areas of law in B.A.LLB, BBA.LL.B and LLB students respectively. She has a year experience in teaching Legal Aspect of Business and Contract Law to PGDM students. She strongly believes that law teaching should be a combination of classroom teaching and activities to teach the art of advocacy. She emphasizes all-round development of her students, and thus encourages them to succeed in both academics and extracurricular activities.
  • She has widely presented papers (also won Best Research Paper award and Best Speaker Award) at National and International Conferences. She was recently invited as Delegated at 13th Asian Criminology Conference at Gujrat National Law University, Gandhinagar to present on “Efficiency of POCSO in Controlling Online Pornography in Delhi-NCr”
  • Her Recent paper on “Inadequacies in Criminal Law Policies for Transgenders against Sexual Offence: The Need for a Gender-Neutral Laws in India” won her accolades at Lancaster University Law Conference U.K. on June 2022.
  • Besides teaching and research works in the field of law, she has also authored several papers and chapters in UGC and Web of Science Journals. She has been invited as Guest Lectures by reputed universities like Noida International University; Greater Noida. She has also been invited to adjudicate in National Moot Court by institution like Haral School of Law, Greater Noida and Frontier Society, Mumbai etc. She has also attended various UGC-sponsored Faculty Development Programs and Faculty Induction Programme organized by UGC-HRD Universities throughout in India.
  • Her current teaching and research focus lies in the area of Hindu Law, Constitutional Law, IPR, Law of Torts, Female Jurisprudence Transgender law, Juveniles etc.
